JOB TITLE: FINISHING HELPER / STACKER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Finishing Helpers basic duties are to stack off of the Taper Gluer machines, and assist the operator in filling up the feed lift conveyor with cartons to be glued. The duties may also include running the Band Saw, Eccentric Slotter, and/or the Curtain Coater. The employee may at times be required to drive a fork lift.
The lifting requirements for this position vary with each job, but mainly consist of lifting cartons that weigh from 2-10 pounds each and stacking them onto a conveyor system. When assisting the operator in loading the lift table the two employees, lifting together, can lift from 10-50 pounds of cartons at a time. The weight of each handful being determined by the crew based on the size of the carton. The job requires some bending at the waist and pushing units on a gravity roller conveyor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting from 2-10 pounds frequently.
Lifting 10-50 pounds intermittently.
Standing and/or walking continuously.
Sitting occasionally.
Driving a fork lift occasionally.
Pushing and pulling occasionally.
Simple grasping and fine manipulation using hands.
There is no use of the feet to operate controls.
There is no climbing of ladders or working from heights.
There is no overhead work.
The work environment is inside of a building. (fans/heaters)
Bending and squatting are required occasionally.
OTHER SKILLS
Finishing Helper/Stacker must be able to read and write.
Must be able to use a tape measure down to 1/16” increments.
Must be able to do simple math (adding/subtracting).
